There are 4 Primary Schools in the area. All of which have nursery provision:
- Yew Tree Primary– Fletcher Way, Highfield. Bellgate and Jupiter Drive schools have amalgamated to make a brand new school which opened in September 08! The Head is Zoe Mathie 01442 400255

- Bees Knees Day Nursery in Cambrian Way provide care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years, 8-6pm. Open 52 weeks a year (except bank holidays). There is space for 124 children daily. 01442 393341. www.thebeeskneesdaynursery.com

- St.Nicholas Nursery in Eastwick Row, provide care for children from 0-5 year olds, 7.30am to 6.30pm and have 66 places available. Open 52 weeks a year (except bank holidays). 01442 253488. www.sunhilldaycare.com
- Jack and Jills Day Nursery has recently moved to Wood Lane End. It offers full day care or morning/afternoon sessions, for children from 6 weeks to 5 years and up to 8 years in holidays. There are approximately 25 Registered Childminders in the area. There are the following Pre-Schools available in the area:
- St.Barnabas Pre-school providing care and education for children two years to four years. The group opens Mon, Wed, Thurs 9-3.30pm and Tues, Fri 9-1pm. There is space for 38 children per day. Based at St.Barnabas Church, Queens Square, Adeyfield.01442 217366. www.stb-hemel.info .
- Little Oaks Pre School providing care and education for children aged 2 years and 9 months till 5 years. Mon – Fri 9.15am – 12pm. Monday and Wednesday 1-3.30pm (can use lunch club). Held at Adeyfield Community Centre, Queens Square. 01442 264173 or 07870 124 926.
- Highfield Playgroup Open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9.30am-12pm. Please contact Lydia on 01442 409645 0r 07879 531748.
