Baby Massage
Little ones can join the Baby Massage course from 8 weeks old. Baby Massage is a wonderfully engaging course that can help with bonding, touch, relaxation and stimulation for babies development. The groups are purposely kept small to enjoy an informal, relaxed environment. This is a very popular course so please book early to avoid disappointment.

First time parent groups
The Post Natal Group is a 4 week programme being held on Tuesdays, 1.30-2.30pm. The group will be run by a Community Staff Nurse and Nursery Nurses. The group is by invitation only through your Health Visitor. The programme will cover:
Week 1 - Your new baby. Crying and sleeping.
Week 2 - Minor ailments and when to call a doctor.
Week 3 - Visiting speaker, road safety or dental care.
Week 4 - Child development. Staying safe..

Post Natal Group (194KB)
If you are a first time parent and have not yet received your invite to a Post Natal Group please contact the West Team of Health Visitors on 01727 891300.
Following completion of the Post Natal Group parents can take the next step by joining the New Buds Group. This group is a 3 week programme and will be an introduction to your local Children's Centre. Children's Centres offer a wide range of services, advice and support as well as a variety of courses eg Baby Massage and First Aid. The programme will cover:
Week 1 - Introduction to
Sure Start, Services, What's on offer
Week 2 - Childcare options. Returning
to work.
Week 3 - Wider community services. What next?

About the Boys Course, Boys Development Programme
ABC About the Boys Course (247KB)
This is a 4 week programme for Mums with Boys aged between 2 and 5 years. The programme helps gain an understanding of your son's development and behaviour.
Week 1 - Difference between boys and girls, and boys development.
Week 2 -
Discipline and boundaries.
Week 3 - Understanding why boys do what they do and what motivates
them.
Week 4 - Preparing for school, emotions and communication skills.
This is also a very popular course so please book early to avoid disappointment.
4 week course, 7-9pm

Exercise Group
Mums of Steel
Why not try and improve your general health and fitness ready for summer with our fully charged Mums of Steel exercise class. This group meet at Victoria Park, at the entrance nearest the Children's Centre, every Monday from 3-4pm. Please remember to wear suitable, comfortable clothing and trainers. Also, please bring with you a yoga mat or towel for floor work and something to drink after all that hard work! 8 week programme.
Next course starts May 2012.
Due to the increasing popularity of this course it is important that you book on to the course in advance. We regret that anyone not booked on to the class will not be able to take part.
