Kids take one giant leap into libraries!

Space Hop: the 12th Summer Reading Challenge launches
We have lift off! Libraries across Hertfordshire are getting ready to launch children into orbit for an intergalactical adventure that will keep them reading throughout the school summer holidays....with the 2010 Summer Reading Challenge.
Space Hop will enable children to boldly go to new worlds, to discover the joy of reading and nurture a life-long love affair with reading and books. And it’s all free fun, which is out-of-this-world news for parents!
Our brave Space Hoppers will help Finn, Jessie, Nabil and Safiya – the crew of the Ex Libris – by reading six books and talking to staff about them. There are stickers to collect along the way, with a medal and certificate awarded at special presentation ceremonies for all children who complete the challenge.
The official Space Hop website (www.spacehop.org.uk) has launched and offers games and activities plus the opportunity to read about popular authors.
Space Hop packs will be available from all Hertfordshire public libraries, including mobile libraries from Monday 19th July until Friday 10th September but you don‘t have to wait for the challenge to join the library.....
