About Orchard Children's Centre
Tring is a small market town in the County of Hertfordshire. It is 30 miles North West of London. Tring lies at the extreme western edge of Hertfordshire and borders both Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire.
Tring High Street is a hive of activity with shops and many small businesses. The Charter market is held on Fridays in Tring market place and there is also a farmers market on alternate Saturdays. Tring is a fair-trade town and also a Transition town.
Orchard Children's Centre was designated as a Sure Start Children's Centre in October 2009. The Centre's Lead Agency is Dundale Primary School and the centre is located on the entrance to the Infant School on Silk Mill Way.
The Centre offers services and support to all children and their families aged 0-5 years in Tring and the surrounding villages. Please feel free to contact us with any queries you may have about what is available locally.
We are very lucky to have a new building which has a large entrance area packed with information and leaflets, there is also a room that can be used for groups and has the facility to be made into two smaller rooms if needed.

What is a Children's Centre?
Children's Centre's provide information and services for families with young children aged 0-5 years, and aims to build on good existing services rather than starting new ones where it's not necessary.
By visiting Orchard Children's Centre, you will receive support and help in finding childcare, family support, health services and even employment advice. If you are looking for day care as a working parent, the centre will be able to give you information about the options for you and your child.
Orchard Children's Centre is:
- An agency to support families, groups and organizations for under 5's.
- The aim is to help you give your children the very best start in life.
- It can be hard to know what services are available or what they actually offer, the Children's Centre will help with this and be a one-stop shop to find out what is about.
- It will also provide some services that are currently missing from your community. Finding out what you want and need will be vital to developing the services that will be offered.
- Support with training and links with Jobcentre Plus and health professionals will also be available.
To ensure the quality of services, all Children's Centres have to be designated by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF). Orchard Children's Centre will be formally designated as a Sure Start Centre from October 2009.
If you have any suggestions about what you would like the Centre to offer, or comments on the services please get in touch.
