About the Centre

What is a Children’s Centre?

Children’s Centres are being set up all around the country to support local families with young children under 5 years of age. Children’s Centres work towards providing the following:

• Giving local children the best start in life
• Making sure there are more opportunities for local parents
• Making the local community stronger and safer
• Signposting to services and childcare provision

Where is my Children Centre?

A new Children’s Centre has been set up in London Colney at London Colney Nursery School in Alexander Road.

No two Children’s Centres in Hertfordshire will be exactly the same as they will provide services that their individual local community want.

Some new services will be developed but most Children’s Centres will try and join up with other services and build on existing good practice, rather than starting afresh.
