FINDING CHILDCARE FOR YOUR CHILDREN
Registered Childcare is care that is inspected annually by Ofsted (the Early Years Directorate) against the 'National Care Standards 2001' which apply to children aged 0-8 years. Care that operates for 2 hours or more a day and/or for 5 days a year or more is required to be registered.
Unregistered childcare is care where parents remain responsible for their children throughout or operates for less than 2 hours a day and/or for less than 5 days a year. Unregistered care also includes care for children aged 8 years and above.
