Welcome to Lamer Fields Childrens Centre

Lamer Fields Children’s Centre is based at Beech Hyde School in Wheathampstead and provide's an outreach service to Wheathampstead, Kimpton and surrounding villages. We help to co-ordinate and develop existing provision, and strive to develop new services according to the needs of our local area.

We opened our doors in November 2007, we are constantly assessing and working to address the needs of young families in the area. We strive to reach out to parents and carers in our community to give everyone a chance to be part of the Children's Centre’s development.

We provide:

• Information on: childcare, early years provision, advice for parents, access to wider services, groups running in your area (including voluntary and private providers).
• Support for: parents, childminders and other child-carers (including grandparents), children and parents with special needs, ethnic groups and existing and developing provider groups.
• Integrated services and co-ordination: Building strong links with local playgroups, nurseries, day care, voluntary groups and private providers.
• Outreach: Taking services into the community e.g. parent support, toy library.
• Develop services according to need: e.g. drop in sessions/stay and play, workshops and support groups, toy library, postnatal groups, parenting courses.
• Links with Jobcentre Plus and the Health Services
  
  

We are open daily Monday-Friday 9am – 5pm. However, as we provide an outreach service there may be times when staff are not on site. The Centre building is open for families to ‘drop in’ for information or to speak to a team member on: Monday 9am-11am, Tuesday 9am-12pm, Wednesday 1.30pm-3.00pm, Thursday 9pm-3.30pm.
