Volunteers

We encourage the involvement of volunteers to help run our services.

·         Would you like to support families with young children?

·         Can you share and promote positive parenting skills?

·         Would you like to share your skills outside the home?

·         Would you like to help promote a stronger community?

If your answer to one or more of the above is YES......WE NEED YOU!

Our Harpenden Children's Centre manager, Pat Everett, can offer a volunteer training programme to support and inform volunteers on policies, protocols and commitment. There are a variety of opportunities to support families with young children through volunteering. Our Centre offers many regular groups and activities throughout the week.

Volunteering can support you in gaining new skills, building self confidence and upgrading your CV with a view to employment.

Examples projects include:

·         Toy library volunteers helping parents at toy lending sessions

·         Supporting various activity groups for children under 5

·         Supporting administration duties

Volunteering can have many benefits for those taking part:

·         Gaining valuable life experiences and skills

·         Building confidence and self-esteem

·         Gaining new skills and qualifications through training

·         Experiences that supports your return to paid employment

·         Satisfaction in helping others

·         Meeting new people and making new friends and having fun

You can decide how much time you are able to give. Support with training is available. All Harpenden Children's Centre volunteers will be CRB checked.
