What's on offer

On this page you can find out what's on offer at the Children's Centre. Please note that during the May Half Term, we are open on Wednesday 1st June, for our Family Picnic, 12:00-2:00pm. Please bring along your picnic and rug and we will provide the fun and games! Thursday's baby clinic will also run between 12:00-1:00pm.

NEW Parenting Puzzle (10-week course, starting 25 January)
9.30-11.30am

Held at All Saints' Church Hall, Hall Grove, WGC AL7 4JS. A free 10-week course open to parents/carers of children under 5 years, where you will learn how to recognise the value of setting clear boundaries, whilst valuing and nurturing yourself as a parent and carer. Crèche available, but booking essential! To book, call Nadine Cole on 01438 843030.

Positive Beginnings (weekly)
9.15am-10.45am

Stay & Play session with Early Years Practitioner to offer advice and answer any questions or concerns.  Activities include art and craft, outdoor play, messy play and Rhyme Time. Please call for Speech & Language Therapist dates.

 
 
 
 

 

HAFLS
Play & Talk
9.30-11.30am
15-week course

Gain new ideas to help your child with speaking and listening, whilst gaining a Level 1 or 2 (G.C.S.E. equivalent) qualification. Crèche available.  Booking essential!   

Baby/Child Health Clinic (weekly)
12pm-1pm

Get your baby weighed and receive advice on health matters, including sleeping, eating and achieving milestones from the NHS Health Team through this drop-in service.

Childminders’ Drop-in
(weekly)
9.15am—11am

Networking group for local Childminders and their children.  New childminders are very welcome. 

Buggycise
(weekly)
9.30-10.30am

Meeting at King George V Playing Fields (near the Pavilion). Come and increase your overall fitness level whilst enhancing your 'happy hormones'! Have fun exercising with friends in the fresh air. For parents/carers of children aged 0-4 years. Buggies not essential!

 

 

 

Saturday Stay & Play 7 May, 4 June, 2 July
(First Saturday of the month)
10am-12pm

Held at Creswick Children's Centre, a group for parents/carers unable to attend during normal working hours and their children under 5 years. A chance to meet others whilst having fun with your children. NHS Health Visitor available to answer any questions or concerns. Just turn up.

 

Jumping Beans
New time, effective from 16 May
(weekly)
2-2.40pm

A fun exercise session for toddlers up to the age of 4 years. Session run by Aislinn Quigley. Just turn up.

Weaning Advice
26 April, 28 June & 26 July
1.15pm-2.15pm

Join us for ideas and invaluable advice on weaning your baby of 5/6 months. Working in partnership with the NHS Health Team.

Baby Resus
24 May & 19 July
1.15pm-2.15pm

Join us for a taster session in baby resuscitation and choking. Run by the NHS Health Team.

 

Little Sunshines
(weekly)
1.15-2.30pm

A friendly and relaxed group for carers and their babies aged 0-12 months. A chance for you to meet others whilst enjoying a cuppa. Just turn up.

 

 

 

 

 

Baby Massage
(5-week course)
1pm-2.30pm

Learn how to massage your baby (aged 0-12 months) with a qualified IAIM Instructor. Massage is a simple and fun way of getting to know your baby and studies have shown that it can aid the bonding process between baby and carer. It may also help baby sleep and improve digestion.
