Play and Language
Young children have a huge capacity to learn and the earliest months and years are really important. During this time, parents are a child’s first and most important teacher. You may not feel like a teacher when you are holding your child, listening and talking to them and responding to their babbles. You may not think of yourself as a teacher when you sing songs and rhymes and read stories. But through all these activities your child is learning to communicate, is feeling valued and is building skills for the future.
