Hi, my name is Jenny; I have been working in the early years and childcare sector for twenty years. I started as a volunteer and then was a childminder; I have undertaken a range of qualifications and have worked my way up. My work experience includes pre-schools, full day care, maintained schools and more latterly as an early years adviser and trainer. My husband is called Steve and I have three children, Charlotte, Abby and Rebecca. I really enjoy working with families and have loved developing the children’s centre and its services since January 2009.

I am 25 years old and worked as a property accountant for six years. I had a career change two years ago to fulfil my ambition to work with children and families. I worked in a day nursery whilst studying for my Level 3 in Childcare and Education, then I moved onto the role of deputy in a local breakfast and after school club and then on to Churchfields Children’s Centre. I am currently studying for a degree in early years and am thoroughly enjoying working with families in the local area. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, netball and swimming.

I live with my partner and have three daughters. My work with children and families spans over 24 years. I have worked in various settings including schools, day nurseries and for a charity organisation. I am now looking forward to working as an Outreach Worker at Churchfields Children’s Centre.
Clare Thomsen
Outreach Worker
I started working for Churchfields Children's Centre in September 2010. I have worked in administrative or secretarial roles, mainly for financial institutions, since leaving college many years ago. Latterly I was working within a Human Resources department for a Bank in London. Therefore working at Churchfields is an exciting change of environment for me. I very much enjoy working with people and knowing that my place of work benefits the local community. I am married with a young family and I can easily appreciate the positive contribution a Children's Centre can make to family life.
