I have a nursing background and have worked as a health visitor for many years, including 20 working locally in Watford.
I oversee the running of the Children’s Centre and welcome the views of all local families to help us deliver the services you need.
My qualifications are MA, RHV, RGN, DN (cert) and NPQICL- the postgraduate qualification for Integrated Centre Leadership.

I have worked in an office environment for over 15 years and started off as an office junior and gained a lot of knowledge and experience.  I am hoping to be able to do an NVQ 2 Business Administration course later in the year. 
My role is to provide an administrative service to the staff of the Children’s Centre and the service providers, I also provide telephone and reception duties. 
My qualifications are RSA in typing and wordprocessing with distinction; level 2 in Advice, Guidance and Support; level 2 food hygiene certificate.

Kathy Pierce
Qualified Teacher

I have previously taught in Nursery and Reception classes over 15 years. My role at our Children’s Centre is to support and advise all those involved with children aged under 5 to help them to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. I hope I can encourage parents and practitioners to feel confident and to enjoy playing with their children-their most important role!
I am a qualified teacher, (BA HONS & PGCE) and have successfully completed the sEarly Years Professional Status.

Colette Harrigan
Outreach Worker

My background as a Nursery Nurse in different settings has helped me gain knowledge and understanding of children’s needs.
My role is to support children and families with accessing the Centre and help families find information and advice.
As well as NNEB I have a level 4 qualification in Early Years Practice and am working towards an Early Years Foundation degree.

Jane Chander
Outreach Worker

My background is 17 years work with children and families in a variety of settings; family Centres, supervised contact services and bereavement services. I am very enthusiastic and committed to work with children and their families and hope my varied experience enables me to understand children’s needs and their parents/carers.
My role as an Outreach Worker is to support children and families with accessing the Centre and help families find information and advice. I really enjoy this role and the varied services offered.
I have a BA Hons degree in Social Sciences and a MA/Diploma in Social work.

Joanne Burgess

I was a Legal Secretary for 12 years and it was after having my own two children that I decided to pursue a career in Childcare.  I worked in a Nursery whilst studying for my NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development and during this time I worked as an Assistant Childcare Practitioner. I was also a Learning Support Assistant working with children with special education needs.  Following my qualification in May 2009, I became a Childcare Practitioner with overall responsibility for children aged 2-5 years.  My role within the Children’s Centre is to support children and families with accessing the Centre and helping families to find information and advice.  It is a role which I enjoy very much.
