Jobcentre Plus
We work in partnership with Jobcentre Plus and the lone parent advisor holds monthly sessions in the chilldren’s centre for individual interviews. We also advertise a weekly selection of local jobs, provided by Jobcentre Plus.

Computer access
Parents and carers who need information related to money advice, work, parenting or other related topics are able to have access to the use of a laptop computer. Check availability and book in advance with children’s centre staff.

Adult Education and courses
We run regular courses for parents and carers, especially with support in achieving a recognised qualification in numeracy or literacy.

We also run Family Learning programmes in partnership with HAFLS and Community Learning Partnership. These courses support parents with being involved in their children's learning and can also help to achieve a level 1 / 2 in numeracy or literacy.

There is a new Beginners Family Language course starting in September 2011 for parents who have English as a second language. This course will be run by Hertfordshire Adult and Family Learning service. Contact the children's centre on 01923 484312 for more information.
