We provide a range of facilities to meet the early years and childcare needs of local families with young children.
We try to keep these services as flexible as possible and are always pleased to hear from parents, carers and children about ways in which we could make our services more accessible.
Berrygrove Pre-school and Daycare Centre is Ofsted registered and provides integrated care and learning for children aged 2 to 5 years.Daycare is flexible and available Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm all year round (except 2 weeks at Christmas).
The cost for daycare is £4 per hour and must be booked in advanced.
Qualified staff support children’s care, learning and play in a happy, caring and stimulating environment.
Berrygrove Pre-school and Daycare Centre offers free early years places, up to 15 hours per week, for eligible 2 year olds (families who receive certain benefits, tax credits and other criteria)

Rainbow Toy Library
Our Toy Library is open during term time and offers a stay and play session every week during term time to Toy Library members. The cost of each session is £1 and refundable against toys hired. Membership is £5 per year and toys cost between 50p and £2 per fortnight to borrow. We have a good stock of toys for young children, including many for additional needs. Under Ones
Our Under Ones group runs every Thursday at Parkgate Youth and Community Centre in Sandown Road. The sessions run from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and are open to all parents and carers with babies under 1 year. Regular advice on introduction to solid food, 'no rush to mush' is also available. Stay and Play sessions
This session runs every Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm. This is a drop in session but we limit numbers to 15 families due to space.Stay and play flyer
Family Fun
We run Family Fun sessions during the holidays for families with children aged up to 6 years. We ask families to book in advance due to limited space. Lots of fun activities guaranteed: cooking, arts and crafts, stories and rhymes, puppet shows, cooking for snack time, messy play.
Sessions are themed and often linked to seasons or national days eg. National Bookstart day, Children in Need, National Play Week, the Big toddle. For up and coming sessions and flyers see home page.
North Watford Library
North Watford Library holds regular Stories and Rhymes sessions for under 5's that combine sharing stories and joining in with rhymes. Each session lasts about half an hour. It's free and there's no need to book. They run on Tuesdays from 11.00 - 11.30am.
The library also holds Baby Rhyme Time on the second and fourth Friday every month from 14.15 - 14 45.
