Parent Representative

Would you like to:
Support your Children’s Centre in developing its services?
Represent other parents and voice your opinions as to what you would like us to offer?
YES? Then why not become a parent representative.

Parent Representatives role
Parent Representatives have an important role to play in the Centre and are appointed to seek and represent the views of parents and ensure that they are heard. They are also there to become involved in the development of the Centre and to take part in and help to organise events and activities. The Centre is always seeking parents who would like to take on this role.

What do you need to become a parent representative?
In order to become a parent representative you will need to meet the following criteria?
You need to be actively accessing services from the Children’s Centre.
You will need to be a registered member of the Children Centre.
You must have or care for at least one child under the age of five.
No experience is necessary to be involved, just enthusiasm and a commitment of approximately 2 hours every 4 months to attend the Parent Rep meetings.

What does this involve?

As a parent representative you will be invited to take part in group discussions which develop the children’s centre's delivery plans and monitor overall progress.

Your Voice is important to us
We have a Partnership Group where all the partners who work with the Children’s Centre come together to discuss the progress of the CC. We aim to have two or more parent representatives on the partnership group to represent the parent’s voices.  The Partnership Group meets termly at varying times.  If you feel this would be something you would be interested in joining we can support you to do this.
