What's On

Families living in the Barleyfields Children's Centre area can access a number of toddler groups and activities for children aged five years and under.

Barleyfields Children's Centre makes a charge for some services. Families living within the Children's Centre area may be eligible for free / subsidised places in line with our Charging Protocol. If you would like further details, please contact Sue Smith, Children's Centre Manager.

Knebworth Library

Storytime takes place from 2.30 - 3 pm on Tuesdays during term time.

Baby Rhyme Time is from 2.30 - 3 pm on the first Thursday of the month.

Parent and Toddler Groups

Playaways - Friday morning 10-11.30 at St Martin's Parish Centre, Knebworth. £2.50 per family.

Community Events

Woolmer Green Community Cafe is at Woolmer Green Village Hall every Friday from 10.45 am - 12.45 pm. The perfect way to local residents to increase their community life by enabling them to meet regularly for a cup of coffee, a cake and a chat. The Community Cafe is a joint venture between Woolmer Green Parish Council, Barleyfields Children's Centre, The Wickfield Centre, St Michael's Church and the Police. The cafe is run by volunteers to help their local community - if you are interested in volunteering, please contact Janet on 08707 776132.

Name of event: Cruisers and Crawlers Group

Date: every Thursday Time: 1:30-3:30pm

Location of event: Barleyfields Children’s Centre, Woolmer Green Village Hall, Hall Lane, Woolmer Green, SG3 6FD

Details of event: Cruisers and Crawlers is a group aimed at crawling babies and those who are beginning to walk aged approx. 10 months to 2 years. However there is no age limit and it is up to parents to decide when their baby is getting too mobile and is ready to move on. Come along for a cuppa, a biscuit or two, and a chat. Groups are free but we ask for a £1 donation towards room hire. Thank you :-)

Name of event: Bumps and Babies Group

Date: every Thursday Time: 1:30-3:30pm

Location of event: Barleyfields Children’s Centre, Woolmer Green Village Hall, Hall Lane, Woolmer Green, SG3 6FD

Details of event: Bumps and Babies is predominantly aimed at pregnant mums and parents with pre-crawler babies. Come along for a cuppa, a biscuit or two, and a chat. Pregnant mums are just as welcome, so come along and you'll meet lots of people ready for when you have a little one in tow. Groups are free but we ask for a £1 donation towards room hire. Thank you :-)

Name of event: Baby Joeys community events

Date: Wednesday Time: 9.45 – 10.15 am

Location of event: St Martin’s Parish Centre, Knebworth

Under 5s dance and movement: Baby Joeys is a fun and physical session incorporating body movements, simple signing, experimenting with senses and a gradual introduction to gross motor skills. You and your baby can enjoy learning new songs and movements together in this fun filled session!
Suitable for children from 3 months – walking
£4 per session; trial session half price.
